FAQs
Does the filter effect the water flow through my tap?
Yes — you’ll notice a gentle reduction in water pressure when you press the button for
filtered water. That slight change is completely normal and simply means the water is
flowing through the carbon core inside the filter. It’s a reassuring sign that your
SmartQuench™ system is doing its job and delivering properly filtered water.
Does it need Wi-Fi or an app?
No. SmartQuench™ is entirely offline. The button pairs with the activation unit straight
out of the box. All you need is access to a plug socket under the sink so you can
connect your SmartQuench™ filter unit to the mains electricity supply.
Does it filter hot and cold water?
SmartQuench™ filters cold water only, which is the standard for drinking filtration systems.
How much do replacement filters cost?
Replacement filters start from just £25.00 and are available to purchase as a single cartridge or you can buy a multipack containing two cartridges that will last you for a full 12 months.
What if I’m not happy with the product?
We offer a 100-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not completely satisfied, just send us the product back and we will give you a full refund.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every SmartQuench™ system comes with a 24 month warranty for added peace of mind.
Where is SmartQuench™ made?
Assembly takes place here in the UK. All components are manufactured in accordance with NSF42 standards, which means high-quality engineering, strict quality control and products you can trust.
Is the filtered water as clean as bottled water?
Yes—and often better. Our coconut carbon filtration removes the same impurities as
premium bottled water, but without the plastic, price, or environmental impact.
Does SmartQuench™ change the taste of the water?
Absolutely. Most customers say the water tastes smoother, fresher and noticeably
better. No chlorine smell. No metallic aftertaste.
Is SmartQuench™ a reverse osmosis filter?
No. SmartQuench™ uses advanced coconut carbon filtration. Unlike reverse osmosis, it
doesn’t strip everything out or waste water. It filters only what you drink, removing unwanted contaminants while keeping beneficial minerals for better taste.
What comes in the Starter Pack?
Everything you need to get going:
- 1 x SmartQuench™ Filter
- 1 x Activation Unit
- 1 x wireless Button + Button cover
- Tubing, fittings and power cable
Can I install it myself?
Yes — SmartQuench™ is made for simple self-installation. Most people have it up and
running in under 30 minutes using our easy step-by-step guide.
Will it work with my existing tap and plumbing?
Yes. SmartQuench™ connects to your existing cold-water pipe under the sink. It works with the vast majority of UK kitchens. If you’re unsure, drop us a message—we’re happy to help.
What makes SmartQuench™ “smarter” than other filters?
Unlike traditional filters that waste filter life on water you don't drink (like when you doing the washing up), SmartQuench™ uses a wireless button to filter water only when you need it. That means better performing filters, less waste and bottled-quality water at a lower cost.
How does the button-activated system work?
The SmartQuench™ button is powered by a small battery and connects wirelessly to
the SmartQuench™ filter unit installed under your sink.
When you press the button, it instantly diverts your cold tap water through the filter - delivering freshly filtered water straight from your existing tap. A blue light on the button will confirm the filter is active.
Press the button again to return to normal tap water. The light will switch to green, showing that standard mains water is flowing.
It’s that simple — one press for pure, filtered water, one press for regular tap water.
Why does the SmartQuench™ Starter Pack require access to a plug socket?
The SmartQuench™ filter unit needs an electricity supply to enable the on-demand
button-activated filter system to work. When you press the SmartQuench™ button, the
system uses the power from the electricity supply to activate a small device in your
SmartQuench™ filter which diverts your tap water through the filter. The amount of
energy used is minimal – similar to a small kitchen appliance on standby.
What’s the difference between Standard Filter and Lead Defence?
Both filters remove the same core contaminants, but the Lead-Defence filter uses higher grade coconut carbon in a lower micron rating specifically designed to filter out the likes of lead. If your home was built before 1970 or you're concerned about legacy plumbing, the Lead-Defence option provides extra peace of mind.
What does SmartQuench™ filter out?
SmartQuench™ uses advanced coconut carbon filtration to remove over 95% of
microplastics, chlorine, forever chemicals (like PFAS), limescale and bacteria. If you
choose the Lead-Defence Filter, it also removes up to 95% of lead.
How long does a filter cartridge last for?
We recommend replacing your SmartQuench™ filter cartridge every 6 months. This helps keep your water tasting its best and ensures the filter continues to perform at its highest level.
Is it easy to change the filter?
Yes— the SmartQuench™ filter has an innovative twist and lock mechanism making it super easy and quick to replace the filter cartridges. It literally takes just a few seconds.
Twist, replace, and you’re good to go. No tools needed.
